WCF is an independent firm of actuaries and pension specialists with around 30 staff.

Through the acquisition, BDO Stoy aims to further develop its pension advisory service.

The purchase price was not disclosed.

Richard Spilg, chief executive of BDO Stoy, said the acquisition is part of the ongoing expansion of the business.

"Merging WCF with ourselves will add significantly to our advisory capabilities and build on the expertise of our actuarial team by adding an additional six qualified actuaries, whilst enabling us to take on larger assignments, particularly in the pension fund arena."
