Treasury Committee to review housing market

The Treasury Committee is to hold a one-off evidence session into the economics of the housing market

The committee, headed by John McFall MP, will use this hearing to discuss the functions of, and future developments in, the housing and the mortgage finance markets.

Those due to attend the session include: Fionnuala Earley, chief economist at Nationwide; David Miles, professor of finance at the Imperial College London; Professor John Muellbauer, FBA at Nuffield College; Bob Pannell, head of research at the Council of Mortgage Lenders; and Simon Rubinsohn, chief economist at the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors.

The discussion which will take place next Tuesday (14 October).
