After serving three years in the organisation, The Pensions Regulator said head of the corporate risk management team Martine Trouard-Riolle was leaving "to pursue other career options".

The regulator, however, said the move was the result of a management restructure.

A spokeswoman said: "As a regulator, we need to ensure that our practices adapt to a changing pensions landscape and therefore we keep internal structures under review."

The spokeswoman would not provide further details.

Although a decision has yet to be taken on the long term management arrangements, initially business leadership of the corporate risk management team will come under Ian Cordwell, who will also continue to lead the scheme specific funding team.
