Wardle boasts 20 years' experience working within financial services, having started out as an IFA before holding a variety of roles with Standard Life over 12 years. He has also worked for Winterthur Life, where he helped develop a national accounts team over the last three years.

Meanwhile, Sullivan will be responsible for increasing support for key accounts and advisers selling the Longevity Income Plan (LIP). She has worked in financial services for 13 years, holding a variety of roles at Canada Life.

Sales director at Life Trust Simon Burgess said: "Life Trust is growing quickly and to have people with John and Karen’s track-records and experience will help us move from a start-up to a major product provider in the longevity area."

Wardle said: "Affiliated advisers look to the networks for support in providing the best solutions for their clients, and I am delighted to join Life Trust at a time when there is a real need for a product that will bolster people’s finances in retirement and protect them against the chances of outliving their provisions."
