Former Association of Independent Financial Advisers (Aifa) deputy director general Fay Goddard may join the Chartered Insurance Institute (CII).

Goddard is expected to announce that she is joining the Chartered Insurance Institute (CII) in a move that indicates a shake up at the top of the organisation.

Goddard has been deputy director general of the Aifa for the past 10 years. The move to the CII follows the departure of CII deputy director general Bob Bullivant to Annuity Direct.

It is believed that Bullivant's role as deputy director general will not be filled directly, but shared out among the management team. Goddard is expected to fill one of the reorganised portfolios.

The CII declined to comment about Goddard's appointment.
