The Financial Services Compensation Scheme has declared Cardiff-based Mackie Wealth Management Ltd in default.

According to the FCA register the firm has not been authorised since March 2015 with Companies House indicating it was dissolved the month before in February that year.

The lifeboat scheme told FT Adviser it had received two claims against the firm relating to investment advice with one upheld.

Earlier this week (June 17) the FSCS also declared Cardiff-based Broadland Partnerships in default.

It had received eight claims against the firm in relation to home finance, investments and pension advice.

Seven claims had been unsuccessful and one had been upheld regarding pension advice which the FSCS confirmed was not BSPS related.
